C. K. Dance Studio is our.....

Mississauga location only 25-30 minutes from downtown Toronto, and includes free parking. This 4000 sq. ft. studio appears quite spacious with very high ceilings yet provides the ambiance of an intimate gathering. The 2000 sq. ft. custom designed hardwood floor is known as “high-sprung” in the dance world and most sought after by professional dancers, and mounted on a layer of rubber and cork to prevent fatigue in the knees when dancing.

Introductory Course
Ballroom & Latin

This introductory course will give you the basic knowledge of three ballroom dances (Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot), four Latin dances (Cha-Cha, Merengue, Samba, Rumba), and Swing. In the group classes you will practice what you learn in your private lessons. The course consists of 4 private lessons, 3 group classes, and 2 practice party session held every Friday from 9-11pm, in our spacious 2000 sq. ft. of luxurious high-sprung hardwood floor. The course will also teach the basics of good posture and proper technique of foot placement in each of the eight dances. You may also use these hours to “specialize” in just a few dances of your choice, but remember a good dancer is one who can dance to all of these eight standard rhythms. By learning different dances you expose your body to a greater variety of steps teaching your body to become more coordinated. After all dancing is all about coordination, being in full control of your body, moving in rhythm to music. What better way to become coordinated then by challenging your mind and body to learn a variety of advanced steps.

Fundamental Course
Ballroom & Latin

The Fundamental Course will give you solid knowledge of at least three steps in each of the eight standard dances (Foxtrot,Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, Merengue, Samba, Rumba, Swing), as well as the basics of either Mambo or Salsa. As the name implies, you will be “drilled” in the fundamentals of dancing: the ability to lead or follow comfortably, the basic steps and variations in all of the nine dances mentioned, with a strong emphasis in learning how to “feel” the music, helping you to develop better rhythm. The course consists of 10 private lessons, 8 group classes, and 4 practice party sessions held every Friday from 9-11pm A variety of music, past and present will be played during your lesson so that you can train your ear to become familiar with the basic rhythmic patterns common to a particular dance. Since you will have more private hours than the Introductory Course, there will be more time to learn advanced steps in combination with new variations of the basic steps, allowing you to become more coordinated. Emphasis will also be placed on the styling of each dance.
